Data is protected in strict compliance with the principles contained in European directives on the protection of personal data, in particular EU Directive 95/46/EC.  All personal data you provide to us is stored on a secure computer server in Europe. Ento, our web developer, acts as data processor and transmits all information to Teamleader, our CRM software, who also act as processors. Quares acts as the ultimate data controller. The server software (SSL) encrypts all data we receive from you.

Among other things, this ensures lawful and fair processing of the data we hold about you. We aim to store accurate, relevant and discrete personal data. We keep your data up to date and do not keep information longer than necessary. Data is secured to prevent unauthorised access by third parties. You are entitled to view your data and you can correct any inaccuracies yourself.

Without your consent, [Quares] does not pass on or lend information to third parties from which your identity can be derived. If you wish to receive information or other messages from us, you can select this option by selecting the relevant box on the registration form. You can notify us by e-mail at any time that you no longer wish to receive messages.

If you have consented to the use of your personal data for the above purposes, this information may need to be passed on to companies or organisations to whom we outsource our email messaging or direct marketing. Should this happen, we guarantee that those companies comply with the Data Protection Act.

15. Use of cookies and cookie policy

This site does not store personal information, but logs the user's IP address as it is automatically recognised by the web server. [Quares] tries to collect and analyse as much information as possible associated with the use of this website, such as domain name, number of hits, which pages were visited, previous/subsequent sites visited and duration of a user session. This data may be collected via cookies.

Cookies allow us to identify the device you use to visit our website or when you have logged in. We use cookies that are absolutely necessary for optimal use of this website or that provide certain basic functions. For example, we use cookies that store your preferences so that we can improve the ease of use of this website. We equally use cookies that help us optimise the performance of our website.

What is a cookie?

"A cookie (also called an HTTP cookie) is a small text file placed on your computer's hard disk by the website you visit. The main function of cookies is to distinguish one user from another. You will therefore see cookies a lot on websites that require you to log in. A cookie then ensures that you remain logged in while using the site." (Consumers' Association) Google's definition of cookies: "Text files containing a small amount of information about the visitor and the visitor's computer."

Management of cookies:

Users can avoid the installation of cookies by refusing them through their browser settings. More information on refusing cookies for the most commonly used browsers can be found at http://cookierecht.be Already installed cookies can also be deleted from a computer or mobile device at any time.

This website uses the following cookies:

Geo-targeting cookies use the information your browser sends to find out in which country you are located. That way, the website can be displayed correctly, adapted to your location (e.g. choice of language). This cookie is completely anonymous.

Registration cookies are used when you register on a website. They inform the site whether you are already registered or not and which part of the site you can access. If you do not check the 'Remember my password' option, these cookies delete themselves after you close your browser.

Social media related cookies, when you share articles and pages via social media sharing buttons this will be registered by the social network that created the button.

Site performance cookies. These cookies make visitors to a site comfortable by remembering their preferences. That way, you don't have to set them every time you visit. Examples are: the volume settings of video players, preferences in the ranking of items, video streaming speed so that it is compatible with your computer, etc.

Site improvement cookies. If the design of a website differs slightly from the usual view, a new design may be tested at that point using the A/B testing method. In this method, you are shown, at random, 1 of the possible versions of the site. The site improvement cookie keeps track of how visitors react to the different designs. Thus, once the test is completed, adequate changes can be made.

Analytics cookies. Every time someone visits a site, the web analytics software generates an anonymous third-party analytics cookie. These cookies know whether a visitor has visited the site before or not. Only on the first visit, a cookie is created, subsequent visits use the already existing cookie. Thus, the following data can be collected:

the number of unique visitors

how often users visit the site

which pages users view

How long users view a particular page.

This information is for statistical purposes only.

Third-party advertising cookies. Many ads on websites are generated by third parties. These usually use their own cookies to track how many people have already seen their ad. The companies that create these cookies, such as Ads by Google, have their own privacy policies and use their anonymous cookies to show users the right ads while visiting a particular website.

16. Protection of email addresses

Your e-mail address will only be used to reply to your correspondence, unless you have given your consent as described above.

17. Data protection for pixel labels

We may use so-called pixel tags. These are small graphic files that allow us to monitor the use of our websites. With the help of a pixel tag, information may be collected such as the IP address of the computer that downloaded the page containing the tag, the URL of the page on which the pixel tag occurs, how long the page containing the pixel tag was displayed, the type of browser used to retrieve the pixel tag and the identification number of cookies previously placed on the computer by that server. In e-mail correspondence that has HTML capabilities, so-called layout detection technology may be used. This technology can check whether you have received and opened your e-mail based on pixel tags.
